“TELEXISTENCE” was first proposed in 1980 by Dr. Susumu Tachi, Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo and the chairman of TELEXISTENCE Inc. It is a technological vision, concept, and the system that expands the presence of human beings.
KEY TECHNOLOGY
Connectivity
Anywhere
Cockpit and Surrogate Robot connects via a standard Internet connection provided by a Wired LAN, WiFi or 5G/4G/LTE network.
Ultra-low Latency
Streaming
Ultra low-latency and guaranteed data delivery optimized for Telexistence applications.
Hybrid Intelligent
Control
Hybrid (Human + Artificial) Intelligence based reaching, grasping to pick&place of everyday objects.
Unique Mechanical
Design
Low cost, mass producible, yet better looking mechanical design with accuracy & robustness for continuous operations.
Optimized for
VR Sickness
Easy to use Cockpit UI/UX optimized for long hours of tele- manipulation with reduced VR sickness.
TELEXISTENCE Model-T
In July 2020, TELEXISTENCE announced the development of “Model-T”, which uses the Telexistence® technology to enable the establishment of Augmented Workforce Platform (AWP) in the retail industry. Model-T is equipped with (a) highly flexible hardware that enables low-cost production, (b) control software that reduces the error in the movement between the remote operator and the robot, (c) communication control that minimizes the latency in a high-load communication environment using VR, and (d) a robot hand that enables accurate and quick stocking for merchandises of various shapes.
TELEXISTENCE Model H
In May 2018, TELEXISTENCE announced the mass production prototype for MODEL H that uses remote control technologies utilizing the TELEXISTENCE® technology, VR, telecommunication, cloud and haptics. With commercialization in mind, MODEL H has improved ease of use and durability, shortened boot time and startup time, sophisticated design, proprietary cloud infrastructure and will be mobile and internet-ready.
